Homeowner Concerns

The residents have formed the "Concerned Citizens of Cameron Grove" to advocate on their behalf.  People for Change is representing this group.

Each condo building has its own board consisting of 5 people.  There is only one HOA (Home owner association) for the entire community with 9 members.

Homeowners are also concerned the HOA has not been able to resolve the builder problems and has not worked on their behalf.  Just recently, the HOA denied them access to host a meeting in their Resort Center which they are paying for.   This was led by the HOA President Belva Nixon.  Sounds like dictatorship vs. democracy at Cameron Grove.

Problems are occuring in most of fhe 11 condo buildings, single family homes, villas, and cottages.

  1. Leaky Roofs each time it rains
  2. Busted Water Pipes
  3. Inferior Hot Water Tanks
  4. Mold and Mildew in homes and the Resort Center which can cause health problems
  5. Large gaps in the windows causing dirt, air and bugs to enter the homes
  6. Lack of proper insulation in the walls which leads to bathrooms and master bedrooms being very cold in the winter
  7. Duct work poorly done preventing heat from traveling to the master bedroom and other large rooms
  8. Water intrusion
  9. Water damage to floors
  10. Sewage backup in condos
  11. High electric bills due to having to having to use several portable heaters to stay warm
  12. Residents were promised heaters by the builder but the bullder recently changed their mind
  13. Problems have existed for nine years
  14. Residents fear they will be left with exhorbant bills for the repairs
